Charles J. Edelen, D.D.S.

  • OSU College of Dentistry - Doctor of Dental Surgery, D.D.S. from The Ohio State University in 1985
  • Commissioned Officer, United States Public Health Service - Indian Health Service Branch, August 1985 through April 1991:
    • Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana (1985-1989) - Facility Dental Officer
    • Wind River Indian Reservation in Fort Washakie, Wyoming (1989-1991) - Chief Dental Officer
  • Northeast Regional Board Certified 1985
  • Western Regional Board Certified 1990
  • Dental Licenses - Ohio (current), Montana (inactive)
  • Midwest Implant Institute - certified in Rootform Implant Externship Program at the University of Kentucky - Lexington - Feb. 1998

  • Private practice started in Sidney, Ohio as Charles J. Edelen, D.D.S., Inc. - August 1991 through July 2002. Name changed to Shelby Family Dental Care - August 2002 until present

Damen Patel, D.D.S.

  • Undergrad School - SUNY in Buffalo, New York
  • University of Buffalo - School of Dental Medicine, graduated in June of 1995
  • General Practice Residency Program at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut from July 1995 through June 1996
  • Private Practice in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. from 1997 through 2002
  • Practicing at Shelby Family Dental Care from August 2002 to present
  • Married with 2 children, ages 2 and 3

Rebecca John (Becky), C.D.A.
I am semi-retired and have worked here for fourteen years. My job consists of lab work, ordering supplies, and substitute at chairside assisting. I am married to Gary, have a son, Paul, and grandsons, Brandon and Joe.

Shelley Sharpin, R.D.H.
I am a 1994 graduate of Rhodes State College. I am a hygienist and have worked for Shelby Family Dental Care for twelve years. I am married with two girls, ages 11 and 9.

Beth Smith
I have worked here for eleven years. My position is Office Manager. I have attended courses in management and collections. I have previous experience in banking. I am married and a mother of two sons.

Marisa Couchot, D.A.
I am a Dental Assistant and have worked here for ten years. My husband is Gary and I have three sons, Marc, Christopher, and Andrew.

Amy Hensler, R.D.H.
I am a 1995 graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and have worked here ten years. My husband is Gary and I have three sons, Derrick age 9, Jarred age 7, and Evan age 4.

Kelly Staudt, R.D.H.
I am a Dental Hygienist and have worked here for nine years. My husband is Mike and I have two sons, Joe and John, and one daughter, Katie.

Donna Calloway
I am a receptionist and have worked here for five years. I am married to Brian and have three children, Travis, Tyler, and Tasha.

Paula Zook, C.D.A.
I am a Certified Dental Assistant and have worked here for five years. I am currently attending Sinclair Community College for expanded functions in dental assisting. I am married and have four children.

Hollie McLain, R.D.H.
I am a 2004 graduate of Rhodes State College and have an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. I have been a Dental Hygienist in this office for three years. My husband is Jason.

Melanie Francis
I am a receptionist and have worked here for three years. I am a 2002 graduate of Ohio University. My husband is Jason.

Sherry Weidner, C.D.A.
I am a Certified Dental Assistant and have worked here for a year and a half. I am currently attending Sinclair Community College for expanded functions in dental assisting. I am married and have 2 children.

Michelle Shefbuch
I am a Dental Assistant and have worked here one year. My husband is Ryan.

Brenda McIver, R.D.H.
I am a graduate of Rhodes State College. I have worked here for three years. My husband is Bill and I have four children, Kennedy, Brogan, Rylie, and Landon.
